Get rid of the distractions by taking inventory of everything that you do throughout the course of the day.
Take a look at the things you may even view as harmless. Like what? Like tv, radio, chatting with nosey neighbors, chatting with nosey coworkers, day dreaming…oh and the bigger distractions like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter.
Now write how much time you spend doing these things each day, each month, each year.
Some of them may be sucking your valuable time.
I found that I spent way too much time watching tv. And I was watching really mind numbing stuff like real housewives or flavor of love. Stuff that just wasn’t getting me anywhere near being healthy or even being a better father for that matter (Hold on sweety I know it’s storytime but daddy needs to find out if flavor flav is going to get a new girlfriend.) That’s just ridiculousness.
So I cancelled cable…only Netflix in my casa. And I got back approximately 96 hours for the year. That’s just watching a show twice a week for an hour!
How much time are you wasting on distractions?
